The first unit we got had damage to one of the hanging crystals. Sent it back and requested a 2nd unit. Second unit arrived and I noticed a couple things. The wire leads had been twisted as in already joined with other wires using a wire nut. Several of the hanging crystals had come apart and had to be reassembled. I noticed the battery was not packed in it's normal shrink wrap, indicating it had been used once before. Several of the screws were laying in the bottom of the plastic shipping wrap and had to be reassembled in order to hang the unit. In order to do that, I had to take it all apart because the nuts were still in the housing. After the dismantling, I put it all back together, hung it and turned it on. It worked. Although the fan speed is not what one would expect. On low it feels like it's running on high. On high, it sound like an old prop airplane trying to take off. But it works and I just dont feel like returning it and trying a 3rd time.
